Woodhurst Conservation Area
Volunteers always needed !

Where is the conservation area?

It is on the right hand side of the road, as you leave the village towards the A141

What is there ?

There is a pond full of interesting wildlife and many varieties of plant life which attract butterflies in summer. An owl box has been placed in the area. There is also a Picnic bench and seats.

Who looks after it ?

The Parish Councillors are the trustees of the site (but not the Parish Council)and Woodhurst resident Phil Clark is now in charge of managing the area to ensure that the plants and wildlife are given the appropriate care to flourish.

What can I do ?

Over the next few months, working parties will be held to clear the footpaths and access to the pond as well as management of the wildflower meadow. All volunteers are welcome and training, supervision and refreshments will be provided. You should wear old clothes and stout footwear.

If you would like more information about the conservation area, please contact Phil Clark on 07894 708352
