Woodhurst Feast Week

Click here to email for more details about Feast Week

Woodhurst Feast Week has been celebrated in the village for over 200 years. It takes place in the week around the 24th June which is the Feast Day for St John the Baptist, the patron saint of our church.

Feast Week provides an opportunity for the village community to get together and celebrate our heritage and environment and to raise vital funds to help with the running costs of the Church and Village Hall. Last year’s events raised over £1,000.

Each year, a number of competitions are held within the village, including our famous scarecrow festival. We have 3 categories in the scarecrow competition; Most Humourous; Most Topical; and Best Traditional. The scarecrow with the most votes overall wins the Comben Trophy to keep for a year.

This years winners were;

Best Traditional The Cricket Match - Manor Farm Family Pass - courtesy of the Raptor Centre, Woodhurst
Most Topical Crowatia - 1 Moot Way Tenpin Bowling Vouchers - Courtesy of Lakeside Lodge, Pidley
